About 3air

3air Tower with africa map

Connecting millions of people in Africa’s cities to the World.

With our proprietary technology we bring affordable, high-speed, and stable broadband internet, digital TV, and IP telephony to the under-connected people and businesses in developing countries.

There is almost no true broadband internet in Africa!

Cities of Africa are vibrant, dynamic, and full of people running around with mobile phones, yet there is almost no true broadband connectivity. Cities have grown too fast and without real connectivity plans so now it is impossible to dig trenches, lay cables and provide fast and stable internet.

A cable in the air

A new, proprietary technology allowing for optics grade connectivity over air has emerged. “K3 last mile” technology provides up to 1 Gbps dedicated internet connectivity, over 150 digital TV stations and IP telephony simply through air. Each base station serves users in up to a 50 km radius.

A proven technology

“K3 last mile” is not something that still needs to develop or prove itself. The technology has been refined for over a decade and is now making its way to the market. The technology has been already successfully deployed in 9 countries and 3 continents. It’s final testing ground is Sierra Leone with a fully-fledged, licensed, and profitable internet service providing company. We are entering new markets with experience, working technology and a proven business model.

The Digital Divide

If you ever visited Africa, you have experienced it yourself.

There is almost no true broadband existing there so everybody is hooked on a 3G mobile tower that most of the time can’t handle the load. Only 0.58% of people in Sub-Saharan Africa had broadband internet access in 2019. Imagine the divide to 40% broadband penetration in in developed countries. There have been 73 mobile cellular subscriptions per 100 people in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016, yet only 20% of people had Internet access. Mobile towers are outdated and 91% of mobile users are still connected to only 2G or 3G networks.

Did you ever try to use a 3G connection?

Imagine a life without internet

Can you remember how you felt when your connection wasn’t super-fast?

That’s a constant in Africa. It is just impossible to have a rewarding and productive experience on such networks. It is hard to keep up with news, lookup online information or interact with friends on social media. Netflix? Online banking? Online school? E-health? Or would you like to do a Zoom call for work?

Maybe you’ll get lucky…

Informational blockages are bad for business

There is no business in the world that would not benefit from a stable connection into the global markets, may it be to communicate with partners or customers, to market itself or to search for suppliers. We might not even think about it anymore but almost everything we do is somehow interconnected and plugged in to this global information highway. Running a hospital, hotel, school, bank, or a government will always require dedicated connectivity guaranteed speed and throughput even at peak hours.

3air can make it happen.

Limitless connectivity. Unlimited potential.

Africa has earned and deserves the digital transformation. Broadband has the potential to reduce poverty, promote gender equality and ensure environmental sustainability. It can connect the unconnected, bank the unbanked and educate the uneducated. It can foster inclusions on the global markets, international talent search and online expert collaborations. The potential is truly unlimited.

Digital is the way

If the recent years have though us something than that the future is Digital. Digital connectivity, Digital identity, Digital currency. Digital banking, Digital education, Digital healthcare. Digital entertainment, Digital communication, Digital world. You pick.

Available to everyone, everywhere, anytime

Internet is breaking down borders. There is no reason why a continent with so many resources, young and talented population, and the passion to thrive, would need to be considered an underdeveloped world. It starts with connectivity, continues with education, and progresses to global inclusion. See a continent transform.

With the right technology it is easy

The World Bank stated that covering Africa with broadband would take over a decade and require $100 billion. We can do it in half the time on 1% of the budget! Stop thinking about digging for cables or mobile towers. This is something completely new operating on a microwave frequency range close to your car radio. No expensive licenses, no expensive infrastructure and extended reach. In the end this also means affordable pricing for the end customer, a factor most important for Africa.

Working in every condition

K3 last mile” provides 3 services, broadband internet, digital TV and IP telephony and it works under all conditions. Connections, especially satellite TV can be disrupted by rain and bad weather. Our technology works perfectly with full speed and stability in under every weather condition. Watch TV when it’s most convenient, while it rains.

Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone was chosen as a final test because of its harsh weather conditions, unfavorable geographical properties, and low average income even for Africa’s standards. There are now over 2000 happy and paying clients connected. We would call this a full-blown success.

3air platform

3air blockchain based platform will allow easy access to digital services, identity management, payments, and credit line building. The 3air vision is to expand into collateralized and undercollateralized loans, IoT, and roaming and to test disruptive ideas like broadband tokenization and enabling secondary markets.

3air token

3air is a token built on the SKALE blockchain. It has a limited supply with integrated mechanisms that make it possible for token buybacks and token burning. 3air needs to accompany each transaction on the platform and it’s used as the payment method for all provided digital services including digital identities, internet broadband services, digital TV, and IP telephony. There is a fully fledged loyalty and rewards system being build around the 3air token with staking in the foreground. 3air is also a community token with voting rights, deciding on the community pool funds usage and gaining more power with the full decentralization of 3air in the future. All added features of the platform, like collateralized microloans will be bound to the 3air token use.

Early rewards

We think our earliest supporters should be additionally rewarded. We have secured 10% of the total supply of our tokens in a staking pool that will be distribute to the participating token holders. Early adopters will have the benefit of having greater staking rewards as with more adoption the rewards will be spread out to more users. We have also set aside funds for airdrops that will be released a few months into the future of the project.

Be part of the change

It is the time to get involved, to be part of something bigger, something that will changes millions of lives for the better. 3air is on a mission to enable equal opportunities for the people of Africa. Imagine how many talents are left undiscovered only because there is no one to educate and bring out the best of them… Join the 3air community and guide it’s efforts, keep it on the righteous path and enrich lives.

Your voice matters

It is 3air vision to become 100% decentralized in the future. When the time is right, when we reach the critical adoption rate and our future is secure, we will turn 3air over to its community. We have set up a community pool that will be funded from 3air operations and will be in control of the community via voting. Each 3air token will represent one vote and decide what local projects are aligned with 3air vision and are good enough to get funded. And each vote will be rewarded. It is your privilege as well as your obligation to steer 3air on the right path. Together we will change the world.

Thank you

Welcome to the family. We at 3air value your time and contributions and you can be proud of yourself joining a such a life changing cause. Arthur C. Clarke said: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”. Living in flow with it we might not perceive it as such but try and step out of it for a moment and go a few decades back in time. Thank you. Thank you for creating magic with us.
